In the spring of 2020, Brink Staalbouw completed the steel structure for Wila’s new production facility on the Kwinkweerd industrial estate in Lochem, commissioned by Kreunen Bouw. For this project, we supplied a powder-coated steel structure totaling more than 500,000 kilograms.
The structure required a high level of customization. The hall features a wide span and includes several “floating” cantilevers, canopies, and crane tracks. All components were produced with craftsmanship at our facility in Nijverdal and then assembled on site.
The new facility was developed for the production of high-end press brake tooling. Wila is a global leader in clamping systems and tooling for press brake manufacturers and users, and this new location is specifically designed to support and expand that expertise.
Together with the other construction partners, we won the 2022 National Steel Award in the Industrial Construction category for this project. The jury praised the careful detailing and the attention given to the end user. For us, the award is a meaningful recognition of the craftsmanship and quality delivered throughout this project.
