DC Het Klooster

For DC Het Klooster in Nieuwegein, we supplied the steel structure for a large-scale distribution center of 55,000 m². The building is located on the Het Klooster industrial park, directly along the A27, in the heart of the Netherlands. This makes it an ideal base for national and international logistics flows.

We used approximately 1,500 metric tons of steel in the load-bearing structure. The combination of long spans, high storage areas, and efficiently positioned columns creates flexible warehouse halls with a high degree of freedom in layout. Loading docks, shipping areas, and offices were fully integrated into the design so that logistics processes can run as smoothly as possible.

The steel structure is installed on precast concrete columns and elements. This steel–concrete concept enables a high construction speed and results in a stiff, robust structure. Thanks to a high level of prefabrication, we were able to make rapid progress on site while maintaining consistent quality.

Together with our construction partners, we ensured efficient construction logistics on the compact and busy industrial estate. Steel and precast elements were delivered just-in-time and erected immediately. This reduced the number of transport movements, kept the site easily accessible, and allowed us to work safely while other companies at Het Klooster remained fully operational.
