XXL staalconstructie voor uitbreiding bol.com in Waalwijk
In Waalwijk, Brink Steel Group completed the XXL steel structure for the expansion of the bol.com fulfillment center, commissioned by Bouwbedrijf Van de Ven. The new facility was built directly next to the existing distribution center and doubled the total floor area to approximately 100,000 square meters.
Construction work began in early 2019, after which we quickly erected the first steel columns on site. Over the course of the year, the expansion grew into a fully operational logistics building with long spans, high storage areas, and an efficient column layout. We finalized the erection of the complete steel structure in early 2020.
We supplied the steel structure with a powder-coated finish, tailored to the logistics layout and the systems used within the fulfillment center. A key aspect of the project was ensuring a seamless connection between the new building and the existing facility, allowing both structures to operate as one efficient whole.
Like the original fulfillment center, the expansion was developed in accordance with the BREEAM sustainability standard. This contributes to energy-efficient logistics, a future-proof operation, and the sustainable growth of bol.com in Waalwijk.
